The Ranches Planned Community

The Southmoor neighborhood is located within The Ranches Planned Community.

The Ranches is currently home to over 2,500 families. It is also home to two elementary schools, a k-6 Charter School, The Ranches Academy, and Rockwell Charter High School (7-12). A new high school that services Eagle Mountain was just opened in 2009, Westlake High School.

Two miles to the East, at the intersection of Hwy 73 and Redwood Road, is Smith’s shopping center, with Hollywood Video, Little Caesar’s Pizza, Arctic Circle, Super Wal-Mart, McDonald's, Walgreens, IHC Instacare, Betos, Taco Time, Subway and other eating establishments, retail and banking services. Professional and medical offices are also within minutes of Southmoor.
